PEOPLE OF ACTION —

Thank you to the club members who came out to our first service project of the year – stuffing back-to-school backpacks for K-12 Alhambra Unified School District students. AUSD Superintendent Denise Jaramillo explained that, over the decades, the District has seen an increase in foster youth and students experiencing homelessness, making this project a documented need to help alleviate the burden of purchasing school supplies on families and guardians. It was a pleasure to have Superintendent Jaramillo and Asst. Superintendents Janet Lees and Pat Mahony join us in this work.

Also, major thanks to Mario and Chris Valle for your individual donation of $100 toward this service. Donations to service projects are always needed and welcome and we are so appreciative when non-Rotarians support our work.
